Do This to Take Back Your Power

Stop listening to the news

First of, I will start by throwing it out there that the news is programming. It is programming you to think negatively. To view everything in a negative way. “Look, 30 people drowned in a river.” “Look, a guy killed a woman in an AirBnB.”

All these is to get you hooked to the news. They will never show how a guy has started his business and is starting to make money. How the youths can learn from him. It is always in the negative side.

One thing you should question about the news is that it is actually free. I mean, as they say, “If it is free, you are being sold something.” Their main purpose is to get you hooked so that they can justify to their advertisers that they have numbers. With advertisement comes revenue for them.

I know of guys that I work with that their main purpose in life is to listen to current events and break it down. “Oh, you saw how the president bought 4 new cars? That is stealing taxpayers money.” “They just want to make the country go broke.”

Every day, there is one thing after the other. New things happening to people that they don’t even know and their work is just to discuss them.

For me, I took my power way back in 2010. I was still in high school and also addicted to the news. It was a habit I had developed at home. My mom is also a faithful news watcher. First forward, I join high school and all of a sudden, I have no time to watch the news.

The 7PM bulletin always found me in class. The 9PM bulletin I had to go to the dormitory to bathe and sleep. So, I had no time to listen to the news.

I spent years living like this. And I realized nothing in my life was getting affected.

You need to stop putting the wrong things in. The media and our peers affect us the same way. When you put the wrong information in is just like eating KFC food instead of organic food. At the end of the day, it will affect you.

Read books and listen to podcasts

Imagine sitting in a room with Elon Musk. Imagine sitting in a room with Nelson Mandela. Imagine sitting in a room with James Clear.

Think of any great mind that you know of. Most of them have a book. And their book tells you everything about their life.

It shares the lessons and the `quick fixes` that we are all looking for.

There is no other way around this. If you want to be great, you have to walk the path that the greats have walked. You have to learn what they did to get where they are in order to see clearly.

We are living in a time where there is too much information. Any information that you feed your mind is changing the direction of your life. Make sure you consume only the information that is taking you to your dreams.

Whether it is Spotify podcasts, YouTube videos, or even music. Learn from people you want to be like. Immerse yourself in their content and copy all their habits. Ignore all the other noise from the outside.

Go to the gym

You want to know how far you can go? How much you can push yourself? Most times, we are not sure how or where we can do this. But the gym gives us this opportunity for free.

You see, it is through adversity that we grow. That we become. When lifting weights, you go from weak to strong. It teaches you that you can overcome any adversity.

There is a good lesson that nature tries to teach us. When you go to the gym and lift the heavy weights, after a while, you adapt. You get stronger.

I remember just a few months ago, as I was doing my shoulder press, I couldn’t go past 30kgs. It seemed harder at first. But 3 months later, I’m lifting 50kgs effortlessly.

This shows that we have some limiting beliefs that we can always teach ourselves to overcome in the gym.

As a human being, you will face adversity. It is not to be unlucky to face problems. It is by design for all of us.

You need to be prepared both physically and mentally.

And remember, the strongest trees don’t grow in the best soil. They grow in the strongest winds. So, if you want to become the best version of yourself, start praying for some strong winds and don’t complain when they show up.

Go for a walk

There was a study that was published in Lancet that took a look at 15 individualized cohort studies. And it divided people into four simple categories:

1. People that walked about 3,500 steps per day.

2. People that walked about 5,800 steps per day.

3. People that walked about 7,800 steps per day.

4. People that walked about 11,000 steps per day.

People that walked 5,800 steps per day, were 40% less likely to die than people that walked 3,500 steps per day.

People that walked 7,800 steps per day, were 45% less likely to die.

People that walked close to 11,000 steps per day, were 54% less risk in all cause mortality compared to the 3,500 step group.

I’m not here to scare you but to show that the simplest thing that we can do is just walk.

In a day, I make sure that I hit at least 20k steps. This was not always the case until November of last year. I was in a competition with the Founder of Gumroad, Sahil, and him being a long walker, I had to beat his monthly average of sometimes 35k steps per day.

My daily average was around 10k steps. Money was involved. I wanted to win it so badly.

Long story short, at the end of the month, I hit a personal record of 26k average steps in a month. This means that there were days I would go for 45k steps, while other days I would hit a minimum of 20k steps a day.

After the challenge, I told myself that my new normal will be 20k per day.

We also like to compare walking to resistance training. Now, resistance training definitely has its metabolic benefits when it comes down to improving insulin resistance and improving that but we forget that walking is moving some of the largest muscles in our body. Our glutes, our quads, our hamstrings. Big muscles.

And when we move these muscles, something miraculous happens. It doesn’t just do healthy things for us. The simple contraction of this muscles sucks glucose out of the bloodstream without insulin even being required.

Meaning, that is giving the Pancreas a break from having to pump out insulin while the cells in your legs are sucking glucose out of the bloodstream. That same glucose that is floating around the blood stream potentially causing damage, because it is elevated.

I’m a huge basketball fan and an occassional player. The intense running, jumping and sprinting up and down the court is something I have always enjoyed. But it also has had its downward effects. Like jumpers knee pains, achilles pain. Everytime I get to the court, I enjoy the game but I have to pay some price.

This is not the case with walking. It does not beat up your joints the way other things do. Do not get me wrong. I love hard things. But again, if you were to look at my workout paradigm, say what does Karl spend the most of his time doing. The bulk of my active time is just walking.

Because, if I were to spend the bulk of my active time running, I probably wouldn’t have the joints that I have now.

So, being able to walk is good for muscle preservation but it’s also good for sparing your joints. The bottom line with it is, you are not beating up your body. It is sustainable and that really really counts for something.

So, being able to walk is good for muscle preservation but it’s also good for sparing your joints. The bottom line with it is, you are not beating up your body. It’s sustainable and that really really counts for something.

I remember when I was a kid, I used to love getting sunlight. It just had a powerful effect on me. But as I grew older, there was not much time to get sunlight. From going to classes and back to the dormitory in high school, I slowly forgot what I used to enjoy.

But then, I got to walking. And the longer I walked in the sun, the more alive I felt. I felt like more bones and matter than just meat with water(blood) running in my body. I felt stronger. Walking in the sun gave me the energy.

Go out on a walk. Whatever you need to do, you can get your sunlight, you can get your low light gazing, which affects your sleep, you can get the metabolic effect, you can get the fat burning effect, you can get the glucose modulation effect, and you can get the angiogenesis effect that is probably going to make you strong in the weight room as well.

Recently, I have been shading a lot of weight without even noticing. I go to the gym, the guys we started with are nowhere near the results they want. I only go twice to the gym. They are always at the gym. They always look surprised how I do it.

You see, as the famous Greek Physician by the name of Hippocrates, who is largely credited as being the father of modern medicine, said in his famous quote, “walking is the best medicine.”

It sounds so simple but it took me more than decade to understand this.

Now, I believe it to be foundationally true. Walking is essential for good health. And the research is very clear. You take a 30 minute walk per day, your heart health is dramatically better because as you are walking, your heart is pumping in a nice relaxed manner circulating that oxygen-rich blood throughout all of your tissues.

And we know that when your tissues are getting vital oxygen and vital nutrients, they stay younger. They stay healthier. It removes more metabolic wastes. We have our blood circulation but we also have these vessels in our body called lymphatic vessels that run near our blood vessels.

And what lymph vessels do is, they carry your immune system and they remove a lot of cellular junk and get it out of those tissues and recirculate it throughout the body.

So, walking gives you this heart benefit. It also boosts your immune system through those lymphatics and also, a 30-minute walk can boost your metabolism for up to 12 hours afterwards.

So, if your goal is to lose weight, you pair a healthy diet with some walking and the research is very clear of this. You do a 30 minute walk per day with a healthy diet, you start losing weight. The weight falls off people.

Everyday, I always get out to walk. I usually feel clogged up and sometimes anxious. I take walks in nature. Nature meaning somewhere with some trees. Mostly, it is usually quite places where there are no people. It is just me, the breathe of fresh air with trees and leaves swinging to the tunes of the wind.

When I come back after the walk, I’m free. I’m open to the world.

There is a research from the University of Michigan that showed that when people took a walk, specifically in nature, they showed a 20% increase in attention and memory directly following the walk.

And why is this? This kind of comes down to the philosophy component.

Us humans, when we are born, the first big challenge that we essentially have is learning how to walk.

We start crawling which gets our muscles stronger, and then eventually we start finding our balance working our way yp and walking. We are bipedal creatures and we walk so that we can explore our environment, and do things and find food and eat. And we have this ancestral baked into our genes in our history, the need to walk.

Not only I’m I able to think more clearly, I get ideas for my business, my career and the overrall trajectory of my life. I get to ask myself questions that I go and find answers to in books and podcasts.

It gives us these health benefits but also, we are meant to walk outside where we came from. And when we get that sunshine for the Vitamin D, when we are breathing that fresh air, it calms the nervous system down, improves our memory and our attention. Basically, taking nature walks is phenomenally good for your health.

It is in solitude that we have the opportunity to confront our thoughts, emotions, and inner struggles, fostering self-awareness and clarity.

By intentionally disconnecting from the noise and demands of the external world, a person can create a space for deep thinking, self-discovery, and self-improvement.

During this time, they may reflect on their values, goals, and areas of personal development. They may use this solitude to gain clarity on their priorities, assess their emotions and thoughts, and contemplate their actions and decisions.

I never miss a day for a walk. I now track it with my Health app on my phone. From the moment I step out of the house, with my target set for 20k steps, I just move. Like the wind, I pick a road and go. For the first 30 minutes, I just let my thoughts play in my head. The voice in my head to talk things out until it settles.

Through regular practice, you can cultivate mental strength, resilience, and a deeper understanding of yourself.

Seneca, the great philosopher, believed that spending time in solitude allows individuals to recharge their minds, gain valuable insights, and cultivate inner strength.

Stop being a victim

There is this friend of mine we met in primary school. They had such a good life when we were younger. I used to envy him. His dad was a military man. They live in the base. Food is free. House is free. There were quarterly parties for kids and adults. Their houses were self contained with fully furnished apartments. In short, they were living the dream.

I come from a poor background. Everything I know, I had to work for it. Going to school, I would walk kilometers to get there. The luckiest I got is when I got a bike that was my commute means. Eating meat was a luxury growing up. But it toughened me up.

First forward 15 years later. My friends dad retired. He never took his education seriously. So nowadays, I just see him with his mom walking in town with nothing. He likes asking me for money when he sees me. “I have this headache that doesn’t go away. Can you give me some money I go buy some medicine?”

I would lend him some money. But I found that this reinforced the behaviour. I tried talking to him but it always falls on deaf ears.

In this life, nobody owes you anything. Nobody is going to give you anything. You are only going to get to where you want to go in life by taking ownership for your life.

Nobody cares. The only person that cares about yourself should be you. The only person that is going to make you a better version of yourself, will be you.

I have asked him severally to do some online courses. He always say he will do them. But I never see him taking action. With internet bundles being as low as Kshs. 20 for unlimited browsing for 1 hour, that is enough to learn a skill daily online.

You are the one that makes the choices everyday. You need to take ownership for your choices.

Whatever pain points in your life, have hurt you, have held you back. Sit back, take a deep breath. Breathe. Breathe and reflect. There is a lesson there. Don’t lose in life, learn.

You start your day the exact same way. You don’t get to play the victim card as and adult. You are in charge of your life. I don’t have any sympathy. You are the one that is driving your life.

You are the one that is going to get the results that you want, if you make the changes in your life to get what you want. You have to do the work. Nothing is going to come to you.

Know your purpose

You hear of follow your purpose on every self development channel that you go to. Before last year, I didn’t know what that word meant. But it was repeated on all the channels I listened to. In all the podcasts that I was a fan of. And so, I had to know what it is.

The happiest people in the world, the top 10%, each of them know something about their life purpose. Because they know five things: who they were, what they did, who they did it for, what those people wanted or needed, and what they got out of it, how they changed as a result.

Now, why is that formulation so powerful? Because of all of those five things that you need to know, to know what your life purpose is. Only two are about yourself.

The other three of them are about other people. Who they are, what they want or need, and how they change as a result.

I sat down with myself and asked these questions. I took a notebook and answered each of them. I realized that my purpose is to help people learn coding, lose fat and gain muscle, and make this information simple and accessible to everyone.

These are areas I am passionate and knowledgeable around. It is something I can talk about all day. And so, I set my path to be that.

Before that, I would just code projects on my computer and push to GitHub. I would do all the healthy stuffs and tell no one. I didn’t know that by serving others, I am doing my purpose.

That formulation forces you to be outward facing. And all the happier people that I met online, they were outward facing. They were not inward facing. They knew very clearly whom they served, what those people needed, and how those people changed as a result.

Marcus Aurelius says, “At dawn, when you have trouble getting out of bed, tell yourself: ‘I have to go to work — as a human being. What do I have to complain of? If I am going to do what I was born for? The things I was brought into the world to do? Or is this what I was created for? To huddle under the blankets and stay warm?’”

Find your purpose by asking yourself those 5 questions. I promise you, getting out of bed at 5A.M. will be easy as chewing gum. You will be on a mission. You will want to walk that mission. You will be happier in the process of walking that mission.

In his Meditations, Aurelius acknowledges his struggle with getting out of bed in the morning. But he engages in an internal dialogue where he reminds himself that all of nature is constantly at work — from the plants, to the birds, to the bees — fulfilling their innate purpose to contribute to the world’s evolution. As human beings, it is our duty to do the same, regardless of our social status.

You find that the rich still work. A guy like Kevin O’Leary, from Shark Tank, says he went for two years to enjoy his money on the beach. Travelling and all that stuff. But he found it to be boring. He is a billionaire, dollar billionaire for that matter.

And yet, he saw that all the travelling was not it. All the money was not it. It was through his purpose that he realized that he was happy. And he continues getting richer by following his purpose.

Aurelius believed that starting each day with a structured routine could help one achieve focus, productivity, and emotional stability and failing to fulfill this obligation goes against the natural order of things.

Know your purpose and set your habits according to the things we have talked about in this article and you will be set. For life.

Eat healthy foods

For years, I have ate ultra-processed foods. I didn’t know they were unhealthy. All I knew was that they were the freshest and the only thing I checked was the expiry date?

“But when does a healthy food take years to expire?” This question would pop up in my head sometimes but all I could see is the “Approved by nutrition and dietetics association” label on my favourite Weetabix.

It’s when I started getting sick that I did my research only to realize it was all in the food.

So, what are ultra-processed foods? Ultra-processed foods are those that have a long shelf life. They are usually packaged processed foods made from white sugar, high fructose corn syrup, white flour and seed oils with a bunch of chemical and preservatives. They are basically garbage.

For years, I have always heard that fat is a bad thing. At the local butchery, you will often hear someone say “Don’t put fat. Remove the fat. My kids don’t like fat in meat. They don’t want to grow fat.” I have heard this line since time in memorial.

For the past 50 years, we have been promoting that is a bad thing. The primary thing taht you need to cut back on. When you start feeling guilty about eating fat, you are pushed to eating more sugar.

Fat is very satisfying. If you cannot get something that is satisfying, you need to get something that is satisfying so you resort to sugar and more processed foods. The food guidelines has promoted to the dreadful situation that we are facing.

I remember some time back in 2019. I had gone to visit home. My ancestral background is pastoralists. So, we depended mostly on eating meat.

Now, I have a great grandmother, aunt to my grandmother. She is as strong as an oxe. I really don’t know her age. Probably 120 years+.

She lives in the remote areas of my home village. There, they only have hot sun, and goats to eat. Nothing else. There are actually no doctors there when I went to visit.

And yet, you will never hear her get sick.

For all of the time, years and years back, 100 percent of what we ate was from nature, unprocessed, unmodified, just like every other species on the planet to this day. We ate from nature, we didn’t mess with it. No grain, no processed foods. We ate meat, vegerables, nuts, tubers, anything we could hunt, capture, dig up or pick. Basically just like every other species.

So, keep it simple. It’s really not that complicated. The hardest thing we have to do is to unlearn all of the stupid things that we have learned in the last 50 years about cholesterol and calories and saturated fats.

My past two years has been all about eating healthy. I have lost weight. It was my main goal but come to think of it, I even forgot it was about losing weight. The first 6 months took care of that. Now I’m on a journey to keep staying fit and healthy.

So, it’s simple. You eliminate sugar, you eat till you are full, you reduce carbohydrates, you eat meat, vegetables, fat, you stop processed foods, you eat healthy fat, you eat less often, and you keep insulin low by doing all those things. And you learn what actual real food is.

Eat fatty foods at the end of the meal. When you begin fasting, you are not yet fat adapted. When you eat foods with fat, it will help you fast longer. Therefore eat fatty meat and nuts.

Another thing I want to caution on is natural foods. Just because something is in the section called natural food, doesn’t mean it is necessarily a health food. They are often made with better ingredients, they don’t use as many chemicals but very often, they are still highly processed. So, just be aware of that.

Listen to your intuition

We always have someone by our side. Even when you are alone, their is a buddy that talks to us.

Many at times, I have listened to him tell me something. Many at times too, I have ignored him.

This buddy is called intuition.

When I updated my belief system about healthy foods, this voice became stronger. When I’m about to eat anything with a lot of sugar, before I buy it, the voice usually tells me not to buy it. When I get close to the supermarket, I ignore it but it screams.

This voice usually comes from my chest area. It usually asks “You are sure you want to do that? Is that going to get you where you want to go?”

I still buy it. Be it the cakes, the LARGE bottle of coca-cola and I get home to eat them.

It’s only after I wake up the next day, that I realize I skipped all my alarms. My head is heavy. I hate myself. I’m not in the mood for anything. And most of that days duties are stalled. Why? Because I didn’t listen to my intuition.

It cuts across many areas of our lives. Be it in business, relationships and other important decisions.

Always listen to your intuition. When you don’t, shit becomes expensive emotionally, physically, and economically. It depends on what level it is. But that is when the shit gets expensive.

Change your perspectives

I have struggled pretty much with perspectives my whole life. Since I was in high school is when I remember it costed me alot. Nowadays, I just reflect on my previous life and mistakes and realize if I knew this information, this would have turned out differently.

In high school, there was this term called “Danda head”. It’s a Kenyan word to mean a stupid person who can’t understand anything ever.

When my grades started to deteriorate, I would hear this term being thrown at other guys that were failing and I started to resonate with that.

This led to a downward spiral in my grades till I finished high school. From an A student to barely hitting a C+ sometimes.

Three things I stopped doing now that I understand the universal laws and the power of your subconscious mind. The first thing is never talk shit about myself ever.

Back then, I saw myself like I have already failed and this increased my anxiety. When you speak something into existence, you are commanding that.

The words that you speak, the internal conversations that you have, are not private. Your subconscious mind is powerful as fuck. Once it takes something as a belief that you have created for yourself, it creates.

So, all those self fulfilling prophecies that you have created for yourself, such as, “I’m such an idiot”, “Why I’m I so clumsy”, “I have mental health issues”, “That’s just me”, “I’m so unlovable”, “Why can’t I find a decent partner”, “I’m a broke ass guy”.

All of these terms that you regurgitate 24/7 on autopilot to your friends, you speak about it, you talk about it to yourself. This is why your life is the way it is.

And your outer world will constantly continue to reflect what you beleive to be true about yourself.

And that is how my high school went by. I was lucky to score a B- that allowed me to enter university. But I am pretty sure now, I was an A student if not for my perspective of life.

So, all those really shitty terms that you keep talking about yourself, you are screwing yourself over. You are creating this. You are speaking into exitence. Therefore it is so within, so with us.

So, stop it.

With the recent cost of living, a lot of my country people are found always complaining. “The cost of maize is too high. What will we eat?”, “Why is he building houses for people instead of prioritizing other areas?” Such complains are what I hear when I walk in my home town to take soup.

I no longer complain about money ever. You will not hear me moaning about the cost of living. You will not hear me moaning about the expensive things. You will not hear me saying things like “It’s too expensive”, “I can’t afford it”, “I can’t do this”, “I can’t do that”. Because I can do everything. So can you. We all can.

We just constantly limit ourselves all the time with these shitty terms. We create these beliefs for ourselves 24/7. And we continue to manifest it. Like a freaking hamster wheel. And then our life is a constant rat race of shit. More problems. More money issues. More struggle. Because that is what we believe for ourselves. Therefore it is.

I have now created vision board for my life. I have this sticky notes in my bedroom. I have written all my goals. All my dreams. The cars I want. The kind of money I want to be earning yearly. My dreams of owning a huge house for myself. My dream of building a huge house for my mom. All my dreams. Sticked them on my wall so I can see them every morning. Every day that I turn my head on the right side, I see them.

You need to become a delusional person. You need to tap into your delusions. You need to start believing that you are successful. You are wealthy. You are rich. Money is the easiest thing to come by. Money is attracted into your life like water.

You need to believe that these things are so attainable for you. That they are so normal. They are so embedded into your belief system. That you will start literally drawing at it.

Like once you tap into this information, your life will change.

The third one is that I will never stop loving myself. I am obsessed with myself now. And I don’t give a shit if that comes across conceded or up myself. I fucking love myself and I fucking love it. Becausie it took me a very long time to get to this place. And I know that everything is a mirror of me.

So, if I love myself, respect myself, and I think I am worthy of everything. Guess what my reality will show. Everything that I believe to be true for myself.

So, you need to love yourself too. Because if you don’t love yourself, how do you expect to have an amazing life? It makes you feel shit, your life will just continue to affect that, you will continue to attract shitty people. People won’t respect you, people won’t show the love and care for you that you deserve.

You need to change your perception on you. Who you are. Your belief, and your perception of the world. And everything will start mirroring it.

Solitude

Solitude is one thing I have discovered that has worked well in my life. I first discovered it in high school. But by then, I didn’t know what it was. I just saw my grades get better when I studied alone.

It wasn’t until recently when I moved out of my mom’s house that I understood its clear benefits.

In your house, you have your own peace and quite. Thoughts and ideas flow easily without any interruptions from a relative asking where the T.V remote is.

Making the time for silence, and solitude and stillness might make you feel like you are not doing enough, but those are the kind of things that give you the idea that change the game.

It is in solitude that we have the opportunity to confront our thoughts, emotions, and inner struggles, fostering self-awareness and clarity.

Recently, I incorporated going for 20k walks as part of my daily schedule. During this time, I walk alone and have a me time. I let my thoughts fly like the birds. I breathe the fresh air of the wind. I take the time to admire the great creations in the like of unique birds and trees that I find on my walk. I appreciate the sun hitting every part of my body.

To practice solitude, you can carve out dedicated time for oneself regularly. This can involve engaging in activities that promote introspection and self-reflection, such as journaling, meditation, or simply taking long walks in nature.

The great philosopher Seneca says “By intentionally disconnecting from the noise and demands of the external world, individuals can create a space for deep thinking, self-discovery, and self-improvement.”

Fast

A huge part of my life has been eating whenever I see food. There is no way a delicious food would sit in the same place as me, let alone a room. I would sleep and dream about how I would devour on that bowl of ice cream. That large cake that was baked yesterday? Yeah, your time on earth is done.

But this made me sluggish. My head was always heavy. Having committed to eating more than 3 meals a day, I was basically a slave to food.

My family members knew that I couldn’t skip a meal. When travelling, they made sure I ate well otherwise a huge part of our journey would be to look for a hotel to eat.

Now, let’s compare that to a bear. A bear can eat and go for six months in hibernation without ever touching food.

Of course humans don’t do that and we can’t know for sure what our prehistoric humans did but if we look at every other species on the planet, we can safely say that our ancestors did not have three square meals and snacks every two hours throughout the day.

More likely, they probably ate once or twice a day when they were lucky and if they were not so lucky, they might go a couple of three days without food so there is a fasting pattern. There is a cycle built into our metabolism.

What about modern humans like my previous self? Well, we probably get, if we are lucky, eight hours and give minutes and that is if we can sleep a full eight hours. And it takes us five minutes to find food when we get up.

So what we have done as modern humans is we eat and we store but then we bypass the fasting.

We skip that part and we skip the burning because you can’t burn unless you fast and you just short that cycle out to eat and store and eat and store and eat and store.

I had to figure out how to stop the eating. Moreso, I was getting fat. That is something I couldn’t accept since I pictured my future 40 year old as a fit person with abs and all that. I couldn’t let that dream die.

I had to figure things out. I had to do my research. I had to learn.

In fasting, we want to go from sugar burning to fat burning. A big misconception is that your bdoy is not eating when you are not eating. In reality, your body eats when you don’t eat. It eats its own fat.

You have to get healthy to lose weight. Not lose weight to get healthy. Weight lose will come when you get healthy.

So, I began fasting. 2 years in and I have surpassed my wildest of dreams. It is possible.

You have to get to a position where, the food is no longer controlling you. You are controlling the food. It’s 6a.m. as I write this. Yesterday, I went for a 38 hour fast, meaning I skipped a day. I will probably eat around 3p.m.

So, how to do intermittent fasting is you skip breakfast. You can either skip breakfast or push it further towards lunch. So, when you wake up in the morning, ask yourself, “Are you really hungry or are you eating out of habit?” The rule of thumb is, DON’T EAT IF YOU ARE NOT HUNGRY.

Associate with people that help you grow

We have always heard the story of tell me your friends and I will tell you your character. We used to sing this in primary school and in high school.

I would add that in the current world, it is not just friends. It’s the pages we follow on social media. It’s the celebrities. It is the WhatsApp statuses that we view from our friends.

All these program us. They program us to think like them. If your contacts post only music and videos that are about complaining, and negative hip-hop music, it programs you.

You have to be intentional about the rooms that you place yourself in. If you are intentional about where you go and the time you spend with people and who you choose to spend time with, and people that you refuse to spend time with, your life will improve. It is about making these better choices.

Thank you!
