Tally Form submissions to Google Sheets

Tally is a free online form builder. It is considered the simplest way to create forms.

A form basically is a tool for collecting and organizing information. It is used for data gathering and record keeping.

You can use Tally to create various forms such as:

- Registration forms

- Survey forms

- Application forms

- Checklists

- and many more.

Today we are going to look at how to export your form submissions to Google sheets.

We will create a clients contact details to get future clients details in our Google sheets.

Create form on Tally

To create a form on Tally, let’s head over to Google and search Tally.

Click on the link. It will take us to the homepage.

Click on the button create form. In our case, we will create a form to collect the contact details of our clients.

On the form title section, write the name of the form.

In our case, the form is called Clients Contact Details.

Press enter after writing the form title since we will be creating the form from scratch.

This is how it should look.

Now, let’s create the first form input which is the customers first name.

Click the + icon to bring up the selection menu.

On the selection menu, we can select the short answer to get the first name.

We will select for email too.

This is how it looks.

Now let us publish and see how it works.

Here is our link.

And now our live form.

Let’s fill it out and submit.

We have now submitted it.

Now, let us see the data that we have collected from our client.

Head back to Tally and select my workspace.

Here, we will see the summary.

Tally also has the submissions tab. Were you can view the submissions as a list.

But today, our focus is on Google Sheets. To connect to Google sheets, go to the next tab called integrations.

We will then connect it to Google Sheets. Click on connect.

On clicking connect, it will ask you to log in to Google sheet.

Use the google account that you are currently connected to.

After the successful connection to Google, you will be asked to name your connection. We will call it ‘Clients Details List’.

Save the changes.

Our submissions are now synced.

Let’s go to Google Drive since that is where it is saved and see our first submission.

On opening it, we see our first submission.

That is how you connect Tally to Google Sheets.

Until next time!

See you.
