I was never a fun of eating healthy foods. I knew food is food. The tastier, the better. I would go with the flow. Anything other people, especially those older than me ate, I would too. I mean, they know better, right?

No. I had to figure it the hard way, when I got sick and I couldn’t get help anywhere. (In a silent voice). I went to more than 5 hospitals with no answer to my disEASE.

I stumbled upon healthy eating and fasting. Those two were the beginning to my current self. With my disease slowly healing, day by day, I knew this is the answer.

I will share my story about my disease later but for now, here are some of the foods that I ate since then that has improved the quality of my life.

Eggs. Eggs are one of my best foods. They are just tasty. And yet, scientists have found a way to create something that looks like an egg.

I therefore deviced a way to know authentic eggs to avoid eggs produced in a factory.

I would look for eggs with some dirt, chicken feaces, on them and also the ones that are not of the same size. This means they are real. They are authentic.

Also, when you look at those eggs, you crack them open, then the york is a deep orange. The mass-produced cheap eggs from sick chickens is a pale yellow. You can almost not tell that it is yellow.

I also decided to depend on one vendor. I know of a woman who keeps a lot of chicken. Hers roam freely in her farm. This means that they get to eat bugs, eat grass and they get supplemented with grains sometimes.

With that, I am sure that I am eating the right type of eggs. The ones that will be of help to my body, especially now that I am going to the gym a lot.

Meat. Did you know that it is one of the few foods that humans can live on for a very long time and survive?

Yeah. Meat is that badass. I like them fat. I hear it is the best kinds. It also keeps you full.

My best type of meat is red meat, pork, white meat and fish. My sister knows I like the fresh ones and so when she visits home from where she works, she comes with them. There is a lake at their place where fish is as cheap as buying second-hand clothes.

Now, the thing to remember here is that, when you eat an animal then you are only getting food that is as healthy as what that animal ate. And if that animal ate a diet that was innate for that species.

So, I would do my very best to avoid beef that had been fed grain because that is very unnatural for a cow to eat grain. They do that because it makes the meat more tender. It makes the meat fatty, and it makes the cow grow.

We all know that a cow is supposed to eat grass and only grass. And if it does it is a healthy cow. The omega-3 and omega-6 ratio is going to be in a good balance. If you feed it grain, now you are messing with nature and you throw that off.

So, for fish you want to absolutely do wild-caught only because the farm-raised it is just like the cows. They feed them things they are not supposed to eat and then they are not very healthy.

When we mess with nature, when we try to change the rules, it never ends up in a good way.

Avocado. Man, I love avocadoes. I eat them by slicing them into four pieces and just munch on them. They are the best fruits ever made for man.

It is great tasting, it is creamy, and it is high in natural fats.

It goes with anything like who can argue with avocado.

Another thing is that when you eat it after a long fast, like a 48–72 hour fast, it just has a way of soothing your stomach. It is like massage for the stomach.

So, it is like it is really the perfect food. Don’t think of it as a superfood. Just think of it as a great staple that fits with everything.

Sweet potatoes. They grow underground. Yes. All that sweet natural thing is grown. It is a blessing from God to us. All natural.

I eat it almost every day. Since I stopped eating chapatis, sweet potatoes were good enough to fill my stomach.

They are the perfect foods to get some quality food with some carbs without getting into grains and things that cause inflammation.

They are however very starchy so you don’t want to eat too much of them. But they are great. You can use them instead of potatoes for mashed potatoes or you can use several of them to mix them up a little bit to get some more variety and a deeper flavor.

They are also great to chop up in little cubes if you are doing a vegetable soup or a beef soup or something like that.

Those are my top healthy foods. Any time of the day, especially after my daily fast, you will find me eating one of those. And I’m getting healthier doing so.
